THE WEST COAST of the USA

The West Coast (also called the Pacific Coast) of the United States include usually the three western states on the Pacific coast states Washington, Oregon and California.
Nevada and Arizona are sometimes counted as West Coast States too because of their cultural similarity, but are geographically unaffected because they are not on the Pacific.
Sometimes the term West Coast is used more specifically only for the areas west of the Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada and the Mojave Desert.
The west coast of the US is 1988 miles long, in the north of Oregon rugged and steep, with over a hundred feet high sand dunes, in California famous beaches attracing, such as Malibu and Venice Beach, and in between are thousand-year-old trees in the "Redwoods" and famous Cities like San Francisco, Mendocino and Los Angeles.
One of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world is the connection of Southern California with the north of the country. The legendary Highway No. 1 offers a number of exceptional scenic beauties - and some of the finest small towns in the entire United States.
The heart of the No. 1 is the approximately 404 miles long section between San Francisco in the north and Los Angeles in the south.
Here the road offers almost everything you would expect from a coastal landscape: from palm-fringed beaches over beautiful dune landscapes to rugged rocks, where around the clock the surf thunders against the rocks.
On this part, a varied fauna awaits us and, as a world sensation, dense dreamlike forests with gigantic mammoth trees leaves us spechless.
